The Association for the Art of the Harp was founded in 2007 with the aim of increasing the recognition of the harp as an instrument in Turkey, to encourage and support Turkish composers to write new works for the harp and to contribute to the performance level of the harpists. Its members are professional harpists, amateurs, students and friends of the harp. Şirin Pancaroğlu was the founding president and continues to serve president.
